Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is excessive worry and fear about something happening on a regular basis or in the future. Apprehensive about that presentation at work? A job interview? Moving to a new place? A little bit of that is perfectly okay – Its normal to feel those things!

So when do those "normal worries" become anxiety? When life throws  us challenges that seem insurmountable and the fear and worry about the unknown

feels unmanageable and all consuming. You may feel that you are anxious or worried about the future, in social situations, or sometimes it may feel like for no reason at all. Negative thoughts and worries occupy a lot of your time and your thoughts. You may notice you are feeling more irritable or even having unexplained aches and pains.  People who experience anxiety often feel suffocated and stuck.

When these feelings of worry and fear start interfering with your daily functioning, in both your personal and professional life, it may be time to seek help. Sometimes we all need a little perspective. When individuals feel overwhelmed by pain, confusion, sadness, & anxiety, it feels impossible or improbable for things to get any worse, much less any better.

You don't need to do this alone. Starting therapy does not make you "weak." It is ok to not feel okay, to want to better yourself and to reach out for support. Together we will help you reconnect with yourself, discover your ability to cope in order to live a more confident and less stressful life.

Whether is this your first time in therapy or if you have had previous experience with counseling, I am happy to be here to help you wherever you are on your journey. Reach out to schedule your free 15 minute phone consultation.
