Do you feel stuck and tired of repeating the same patterns and behaviors? Depression, anxiety and problems in relationships often cause deep anguish and pain - just getting by each day can be difficult. We often struggle alone believing things will never get better or that no one could understand. Well-meaning friends and family urge us to “just get over it”, but that often that makes us feel even more isolated.
I believe every person possesses the potential to transform their life. Therapy is a place just for you, to be heard, validated and supported. We will work together in a collaborative process to create the change you are hoping for. I recognize that the decision to pursue therapy can be a difficult process and I aim to help you better understand the issues you are dealing with and together develop healthy ways for you to cope.
I recognize that no two people are the same, nor are their problems. We will start therapy where you are in your journey and work to ensure that I individualize your treatment to meet your needs and goals.
I provide therapy for individual and couples as well as adolescents and their families
Areas of expertise include: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, Grief and Loss, LGBTQ issues, Post Partum issues, Parenting and treatment of Adolescent depression using Attachment Based Family Therapy(ABFT).
In addition to psychotherapy, I am also available for clinical supervision for LSWs and LCSWs.
Get to Know Me
I knew very early on that my purpose was to be in the helping profession. When I discovered the field of social work and the impact it could have on people's lives I knew this is what I should be doing.
I have been practicing social work for almost 20 years andI love being able to be a part of people's personal journeys of growth and positive change. My practice is from a psychodynamic and attachment lens. The scope of my work included adolescents and their families, young adults and adults doing individual, group, family and couples therapy.
I am a Suicide Bereavement Trained Clinician and an Attachment Based Family Therapy trained therapist.
Additionally, I am a part time lecturer for Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Social Work, teaching Clinical Social Work I (Theory and Practice with Individuals) and Clinical Social Work II (Theory and Practice with Groups, Families and Couples.)
I have worked in various settings including agencies, private schools, and private practice. My passion for the field extends to teaching up and coming social work students and serve as a Part Time Lecturer at Rutgers University School of Social Work.
While my professional achievements are important, I am also a mom of two young kids and have been able to use my family's challenges as a way to learn, grow and ultimately better my work with clients.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and running.

Individual therapy is a process where clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors. Therapy goals often include making change, wanting to better understand themselves and others, setting personal goals, and working toward improving relationships.
Family therapy is way to help families reduce distress and conflict by improving the interactions and communication between family members.
Family therapy can help develop and maintain healthy boundaries and promotes problem solving through understanding of family patterns.
Parent coaching is a way to help you feel more confidant in your parenting skills, while bringing peace, connection and calm communication to your family.
Grief and Loss

and the survivors who are bereaved."
The loss of a loved one can have a profound and sometimes devastating impact on those left behind. Grief and Loss are very personal and different for every person, but something that is very common is the deep suffering people feel. I don't believe that people can "move on" after a loss, but rather we move forward. I help clients to process all of the complicated (and sometimes conflicting) feelings that may come up after a significant loss. I work with clients who are survivors of suicide loss, parents who have suffered a miscarriage, families who have lost a love one or a pet. Together we will work towards moving forward in your life while honoring your loved ones memory.

What should I look for in a therapist
The most important factor in your therapy is goodness of fit. If we meet and you decide I am not the right therapist for you or your family, I will work with you to make an appropriate referral
Does it seem like the therapist truly cares about you and your problems?
Do you feel as if the therapist understands you?
Does the therapist accept you for who you are?
Would you feel comfortable revealing personal information to this individual?
Do you feel as if you can be honest and open with this therapist? That you don’t have to hide or pretend you’re someone that you’re not?
Is the therapist a good listener? Does he or she listen without interrupting, criticizing, or judging? Pick up on your feelings and what you’re really saying? Make you feel heard?
Is family therapy part of my adolescents therapy?
Definitely. When I am seeing a child individually, I also see the family during the same timeframe. Some weeks it’s just for a few minutes at the beginning of the hour, other times it’s separate family therapy sessions. I generally recommend meeting alone with the parents for the first session.
How can therapy help me or my child?
In therapy a child can expect to receive undivided adult attention and unconditional positive regard. Therapy can provide a safe place to express uncomfortable feelings, and a neutral adult that the child can talk to about otherwise charged topics. A session can be an opportunity to “be in charge” and explore themes of independence and power/control, and more.
Therapy can help you cope with feelings, problem solve and change behavior patterns that may contribute to your symptoms. This process not only helps you understand subtle and often unnoticed emotions, but also can help you begin to manage strong and often uncomfortable feelings more effectively.
Talk therapy is not just “talking about your problems”; it is also working toward solutions. You might be encouraged to look at things in a different way or learn new ways to react to events or people.

Free: 15 minute phone consultation
$200 Initial Evaluation
$150 for Individual or Family sessions
Cancellation Fee: Please provide 24 hours notice if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellation Fee is $50 for missed appointments. Insurances do not cover or reimburse the cost associated with a missed session.
Do you take insurance?
I do not participate in any insurance plans, but if you have out of network benefits, you may be eligible to submit for reimbursement. This means your insurance may reimburse you a percentage of any out-of-pocket costs as determined by your plan's coverage. I recommend calling your insurance provider directly to determine what mental health coverage you have.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Sliding scale is available on a case by case basis based on income and need.
How long does each therapy session take?
Each session is 45 minutes to 1 hour
